ABO Scenario-Based Clinical Exam Prep Course

The College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics is designed to assist participants in preparing for the American Board of Orthodontics Scenario-Based Clinical Examination to achieve board certification. The course includes tips on how to prepare and maximize your effectiveness during the ABO Virtual Clinical Examination. Attendees will be invited after the course to join the College Prep Course Facebook Study Group (CDABO Prep Course) for continued dialogue and sample case practice.
Learning objectives are as follows:
1. Learn about the history and evolution of the ABO Clinical Exam
2. Become more familiar with the different parts of the ABO Clinical Exam
3. Gain helpful tips and strategies for taking the ABO Clinical Exam
You will receive Prep Course study materials including the decks for all 4 modules reviewed during the ABO Prep Course by Monday, 4/21/2025, via email. Remember check in starts at 11:30AM EST and then the Prep Course begins promptly at 12PM EST on Thursday, 4/24/2025.

ABO Scenario-based Clinical Exam
Dr. Paul Sproul: Dr. Paul, as he is affectionally known, received a master of Science degree and Certificate in Orthodontics from the University of Texas-Houston. He won the prestigious Shepard Award, which was given to Dr. Paul for scoring the highest score in the nation on the written portion of the American Board of orthodontics exam. Professionally, Dr. Sproul has served all offices including President of the Huntsville/Madison Couty Dental Society. In 2015-2016, Dr. Paul served as President of the Alabama Association of Orthodontists. Because of the increasing role that government plays in health care decisions, Dr. Paul is the current State-Captain for the AAO-PAC to ensure that the voices of both orthodontists and their patients are heard by our political leaders. He serves as a Councilor for the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics and lectures yearly to those pursuing board certification. He has practiced in a multi-pediatric dental/orthodontic practice in Huntsville, Alabama since 2000. He enjoys spending time at the lake in the summer and watching college football in the fall. He has an awesome wife, Jenni, and two adult children, Zachary and Valerie.

Dr. Nipul Tanna: Dr. Nipul Tanna has dual specialty training in Orthodontics and Periodontics. After completing his DMD and an Advanced Education in General Dentistry program, Dr. Tanna accepted a full-time faculty position and engaged in clinical practice, clinical teaching, research and administration at the University of Pennsylvania. With a strong desire to pursue advanced dental education, Dr. Tanna completed specialty training in both Periodontics and Orthodontics and also completed a Masters in Oral Biology. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics as well as the American Board of Periodontics. Dr. Tanna currently engages in clinical practice, clinical practice, clinical teaching, research and is the Program Director of the combined Orthodontics/Periodontics program at The University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Tanna is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Academy of Periodontology, the Academy of Osseointegration, the American Dental Education Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, and the Philadelphia County Dental Society.
Dr. Christian Davillier: Dr. Chrisitan Davillier received his BS from Xavier University of Louisiana and his MPH from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. Dr. Davillier graduated dental school from Meharry Medical College and went on to complete his orthodontic residency training at Howard University. He currently serves as President of the Virginia Association of Orthodontists and President of the Tidewater Dental Association. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and serves as an ABO Ambassador. Dr. Davillier maintains a private practice in Virginia Beach and Suffolk, VA. In his spare time he enjoys golfing and participating in 5K/10K races.
Participants will receive 4 CE credits for their participation.

Cancellation Refund Policy: Full refund less than 10% cancellation fee per person if received via email at info@cdabo.org by 3/31/2025 within 7 business days. Since space is limited, there is no refund for cancellations after April 1, 2025.
RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY: Each Course Participant will be asked to verify that they agree to these terms on the next registration page. I, the undersigned, have registered for a course(s) offered by the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics.
I understand that the College is not affiliated with the American Board of Orthodontics nor is the College an examining or certifying body and therefore the College has no access to or control of any aspect of the board examination process.
The course or courses are not required for board certification and are merely presented to aid in my preparation for the board certification process.
I understand that it is my responsibility to ensure that I have the latest information regarding certification and to prepare in the manner that I deem appropriate for such certification.
I understand that there can be no assurances that taking the course or courses from the College will enable me to obtain board certification.
Knowing the risks and in consideration of my participation in the course or courses, I, for myself and my personal representatives, my heirs and assigns, hereby hold harmless and release, waive, discharge and covenant not to sue the College, its officers, directors, councilors, volunteers, agents, representatives, sponsors, faculty, successors and assigns and anyone acting in concert with the College of and from all claims or liability of any kind or nature whatsoever arising out of, or in any way connected with my participation in the course or courses and subsequent examinations for board certification even though the claim or liability may arise out of the negligence, fault or carelessness on the part of the College or any third party, whether foreseen or unforeseen, known or unknown.
I hereby expressly agree that this release and waiver is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by law and that if any portion hereof is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect.
I further state that I have carefully read the foregoing Release and Waiver of Liability, know the contents thereof, and have agreed to sign this Release and Waiver of Liability as my own free act and deed.

By registering for and attending this College Prep Course, I agree to abide by and engage in certain health-and-safety-beneficial conduct while attending the event. I acknowledge and agree that the College is not legally liable or responsible should I be exposed to an individual carrying or contagious with COVID-19 while at the College Prep Course, and I further agree and hereby release the College from any and all legal liability, responsibility, or other claim for damages should I be exposed to and/or contract COVID-19 while attending the College Prep Course.
